Stage 4 · Andorra la Vella → Andorra la Vella
Stage 4: Andorra la Vella → Andorra la Vella
Port d'Envalira, Collada de Beixalis, Coll d'Ordino: three Andorran climbs in the legs for 104.9 km of pure mountain, and at the end Tadej Pogačar who settles the matter solo, without trembling, without looking back. Three jerseys on his shoulders, the red, the green and the polka dot, he continues to collect tunics like others collect stamps.
On the contest side, the big question of the day was: who had dared to bet on the Slovenian ogre? There are 105 out of 812 who found the winner, a courageous minority that includes in its ranks Dylan Piette, maximemaes, Snipercalcio, Jokerwolf, Laura, Stephanie Labeille, GOGO, Pistache, Olivier D., MichaelJacobs, tomtom, NieCop, cedricdupont and GuntherOostende. Nice list. On the complete podium (Pogačar, Jarno Widar, Felix Gall), 215 players had it right, that's already more comfortable. On the other hand, the bet "best French or Belgian" with Jarno Widar as the right answer? Only 2 players out of 812 had it in their pocket, almost a miracle. The "solo" finish type was the most shared bet: 587 correct ticks, the vast majority felt that Pogi would not share the cake.
The best stage of the day goes to six players tied at 40 points each: amelielero, bastdu68297, BenoMerc, Bram N., Char and Druide08. This harvest does good for the general standings for several of them: BenoMerc and bastdu68297 both climb 5 places to point to 3rd position tied with 76 points, Char makes a real jump of 18 ranks to settle 7th with 71 points, and Bram N. gains one place to hold onto 2nd position (81 points).
Yvette holds strong in the lead with 89 points, 8 units ahead of Bram N.: she thus completes a 2nd stage leading the contest general, symbolically wearing this red jersey with the same serenity as Pogačar on the Andorran roads. Behind, the pack tightens, Olivier Chaprier (5th, 74 pts) and bastien blan (6th, 72 pts, -3) are not far away. PierreVermeulen pulls off the day's best move in the upper standings with +29 places to reach 18th position.
But the real fireworks come from the bottom: Stephanie Labeille treats herself to the best comeback of the stage with +665 places to land in 111th position, a feat that deserves a standing ovation. In the same upward wave, VladOd climbs 665 ranks as well (111th), Yanis-T by +645 (131st), GladiatorFalcon9 by +557 (98th) or SDegroot by +575 (201st). The Vuelta is really starting for many people, and that's all for the best. For the 75 players who came away empty-handed today, Spain still has many climbs to offer, opportunities will not be lacking.

Each phase total is exactly the leaderboard total of that phase: match predictions + top-scorer goals scored during the phase. Tournament picks (champion, finalists) are added at the end. Avg/day divides the overall total by the matchdays actually counted since the player joined; it only serves to compare players who joined on different dates.
